What I teach: 9th Grade English/9th Grade Honors English
10th Grade Health About me: I am originally from McCook, Nebraska where I attended high school at McCook Senior High. After high school, I attended Midplains Community College for two years on a volleyball scholarship. I moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha for a degree in Secondary Education. During my free time in college, I spent a lot of time teaching ballroom dance lessons, giving tours on campus, and attending sporting events. I am a huge Nebraska volleyball and Minnesota Twins Baseball fan! I can't wait to start the year and support my Platteview Trojans! About my education: I received my undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with endorsements in English and Health from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in December 2009. I am currently enrolled in the CADRE program at UNO as part of an accelerated Masters Degree program, for first year teachers, that I will complete in the summer of 2011. Statement of Educational Philosophy: I truly believe that all students can learn, however, we must recognize that we all learn in different ways. As a teacher, I will help students learn by using various techniques and lessons that will benefit each student. I am excited about trying new things in our classroom! Advice to my students: There will be parts of this class that you will find very challenging and demanding. So, my advice to you is get ready to work hard! Of course, along with hard work comes exciting and fun learning adventures! I hope you are as excited as me for the 2010-2011 school year! Welcome to my class! | |
